Please refresh page every time. What is Microchipping for Dog?
|
See how small the microchip is! |
Microchipping is the best way to ensure that your dog would be returned to you when he/she is found by the AVA or SPCA who are supposed to do routine scanning of all strays they pick up. The microchip is a small rice-grain like device that is implanted under the skin on the back of your dog's neck. It is painless and just takes a few seconds to be implanted by a vet. The microchip cannot be removed, copied or crushed. It can last as long as 25 years. Each chip has its own unique numbers. Your particulars are kept in a database. Please ask your good vet to implant one for your dog if he/she has not got one yet. You really cannot forecast when your dog will get lost so it is good to have secured identification for him/her. Microchipping dogs is a good way too to address the big problem of irresponsible people abandoning their pets. It also helps to catch thieves if they try to sell pets which they have stolen. DogPeople is all in for making microchipping compulsory in Singapore. @ |
