Many people buy puppies without realizing that destroying things and furniture and misbehaving are all part and parcel of the growing up process of dogs.  It is absolutely normal for puppies to play with things inside your house, and chew and scratch them.  You can try to minimize the destruction by giving him/her toys and rawhide bones but that's about all you can do with regards to the puppy tornado phenomena.  

So be prepared for all these and don't be caught by surprise that your favourite CD is lying on the floor in pieces when you get home!  If you don't want to go thru' these, adopting an older dog, say 3 years old and above, is a clever choice.
