site aims to provide Singaporeans with the basic knowledge needed before becoming a dog owner.
Dogs are not toys, dog breeds were not developed over hundreds
and thousands of years just to be somebody's pet in hot humid Singapore.
Never choose a puppy based on physical looks. Help save
lives by adopting homeless dogs instead of buying. And don't
forget to sterilize your pet dog.

Below are sent in by the
dogs' humans to be appreciated by everyone. They are not for
adoption. We welcome you to send in your dog's picture too. Let's
all celebrate their existence, beauty, loyalty, genuineness, innocence,
perfection and love!
Over 19,000 dogs and cats are abandoned each year.
That is over 52 pets a day! This does not include the countless ones not
in the statistics - those thrown away by irresponsible and heartless people in
Lim Chu Kang and elsewhere to be left to their own fate. The majority of
those caught by AVA and SPCA are simply killed. There is yet little
commitment in Singapore to rehabilitate and re-home these innocent and helpless
but highly intelligent creatures.
We believe most of these abandonment of pets are really
unnecessary if Singaporeans had been aware of the requirements and
responsibilities of keeping them in the first place. We hope by educating
the people and raising their awareness, especially the ones who are most
vulnerable to be cheated by unethical pet shops and bad breeders, we can greatly
reduce the number of people abandoning, neglecting and abusing their
dogs. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN
CURE.

Animal abuse and
abandonment are offences under the laws in Singapore. Convicted criminals
shall be fined an amount not over $10,000 or sentenced to a jail term not
exceeding 12 months or to both.
